25 reasons my kids aren't going to public school

1. Because public schools are gun free zones, due to moronic legislators and special interest groups who care more about their misconceived ideologies than they do about children's safety and well-being.

2. Public schools punish students for defending themselves and their classmates, and shy away from self-defense programs to improve the children's safety

3. They're draconian about racial minority protections while disrespecting and attacking religious, social, ethical, and individual diversity.

4. They value collectivism, conformity, consensus, and solidarity, while punishing and suppressing individuality, creativity, and diversity of thought.

5. They serve kids unhealthy and unnatural food that makes kids obese and vulnerable to a myriad of health risks.

6. They emphasize tests and standardized education, caring more about results than actual education, reducing the children from living, sentient humans, to statistical quotas to be met.

7. They teach kids to memorize and regurgitate knowledge, and devalue the part of learning where kids actually think about and apply what they've learned, and create new knowledge of their own.

8. They force kids to embrace immoral and disgusting behavior, such as promiscuous sex, homosexuality, and "gender reassignment", and punish those kids who refuse to accept these things as "normal" and "good".

9. They promote consensus and authority-based knowledge, while suppressing sources of knowledge that are not "peer reviewed" by academia, and ridiculing children more open-minded in their sources of knowledge.

10. They promote social and cooperative education aggressively, even though in most cases it is a less efficient form of learning.

11. Respect and unquestioned trust in the teacher's "knowledge" and "authority" is valued far more than a legitimately accurate and informative education.

12. The education in public schools is optimized almost purely for the collective, treating the class as if it were one person, and without any regard for individual educational needs, wants, strengths, weaknesses, or learning styles.

13. Education in the public school system is based largely in propaganda and the end-goal is "initiation for integration into society" more than anything. Thus, the student's time and effort is wasted on meaningless "education" intended to mold the children into "model citizens" rather than inspiring and encouraging them to learn and think freely and passionately. As Albert Einstein once said, "it's a wonder that creativity survived public education".

14. Public schools bottleneck children's education by imposing group-progress based mechanisms, requiring that more gifted and intelligent kids slow their pace of learning to the learning-speed of the average student. This is a major waste of kids' learning potential.

15. They encourage kids to become politically involved about issues they know nothing about, and impose ideas and values in the kids regarding government and social issues, without even consulting the parents about it.

16. They continually present opinions and propaganda as facts, and punish or deride the children who challenge them.

17. The teachers get involved in the kid's relationships, socio-political affiliations, religious beliefs, and personal lives, giving "advice" and telling the kids what they should, think, do, and feel-- about issues that have nothing to do with the kid's education.

18. Teachers tell the parents how to raise and instruct their own kids, and get government "child protection" agencies involved with the parents don't conform to the teachers' advice.

19. They promote such invasive healthcare procedures as vaccines and STD injections

20. They are hypochondriacs who act as if anything different, unique, or fun about kids is an illness that needs to be treated. If the public school system had its way, half of all kids would diagnosed with ADHD, depression, and bipolar disorder. Actually, some recent statistics show we've almost gotten to that point.

21. If the kids are seen as too unique or creative or challenging authorities such as the teachers too much, they are given psychological evaluations and recommended treatment (usually in the form of pills and therapy), all without the parents' consent. Then, if the parents refuse to recommendations, the school has them investigated for neglect and abuse of their kids.

22. Teachers promote such nationalistic values as consumerism (buying "American" products), patriotism, political complacency, ritual worship of the established political system; if the kids or the parents protest or refuse participation in these ideas and practices, they are vilified as "un-American", "disrespectful" or even "treasonous".

23. Most of the more important things worth learning, that actually would benefit my kids later on life, are not taught in public school (these don't become available until college/university).

24. Public schools encourage the social element of school so heavily, that kids go to school more to hang out with and meet with friends, and meet a girl to "hook up with", with heavily adulterates the main point of going to school: to learn.

25. The biggest reason is uncertainty and lack of control over my kid's education, and thus of ensuring my kids have a happy, successful, and virtuous future. Other than the reasons stated above, there are so many other problems with public school education that get only worse with time, and the teachers and school officials *will not* tell the parents about, making the public educational system the ultimate bane of any parent who cares about their children's future!
